Matt Hogue Day Proclaimed in Houston

Houston honors Hogue Landscape Services founder Matt Hogue with a day of recognition for his impact on business, community, and the city’s growth.

Houston Mayor John Whitmire has officially proclaimed May 15 as “Matt Hogue Day,” honoring Matt Hogue, founder and CEO of Hogue Landscape Services.  From transforming outdoor spaces to supporting local youth and charities, Matt Hogue’s dedication goes far beyond landscapes.  His leadership, community dedication, and entrepreneurial achievements continue to shape the city’s future and inspire others to give back.

Houston Mayor John Whitmire has officially declared May 15, 2025, as "Matt Hogue Day," honoring Hogue Landscape founder and CEO Matt Hogue. This recognition celebrates his exceptional professional achievements, civic leadership, and deep commitment to the Greater Houston community.

A Houston resident since 1999, Matt Hogue's journey exemplifies vision, perseverance, and service. He earned his BBA from the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business, where he was distinguished as one of the top 27 graduating seniors.

After 15 years in Houston's high-end landscape architecture industry, Matt established Hogue Landscape Services in 2019. Under his guidance, the company has experienced rapid growth and significantly contributed to the beautification of both residential and commercial spaces throughout the city.

Matt’s influence extends beyond landscaping. He was recently named the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association’s Young Leader of the Year, an award recognizing his contributions to job creation, design innovation, and industry leadership. Furthermore, his company ranked among the top 25 businesses in the Cougar 100, which honors the fastest-growing companies led by University of Houston alumni.

A dedicated University of Houston alumnus, Matt is a member of the Ezekiel W. Cullen Society and actively supports Cougar athletics and campus programs. In 2024, he joined the Board of Directors for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, serving on the Calf Scramble Donors and School Art Auction committees. As a Silver Spur member, he has been a strong advocate for youth development and global outreach.

As Matt celebrates his birthday with his wife Laura, daughters Amberly and Caroline, and son Matthew, the entire city of Houston can now join in celebrating his remarkable contributions. The declaration of “Matt Hogue Day” stands as a powerful tribute to the impact one individual can achieve through vision, generosity, and unwavering dedication.
